Time tracking that respects the person being tracked

The ally your team actually wants
at work.

Employees start, pause, and end their own tracking — and review every screenshot before it leaves their machine. AllyTracker is the only time tool your team will thank you for installing. Read more →

What AllyTracker does

Two simple controls. Total peace of mind.

AllyTracker does exactly two things, and your teammates are in charge of both: the timer they start and stop themselves, and the screenshots they review before anything is sent.

Start · Pause · End

The clock is in their hands.

No automatic launch, no sneaky background timers. Every teammate decides when their session starts, pauses for a coffee or a deep-work block, and ends at the close of day. The hours that get logged are the hours they choose to log.

  • One-tap Start, Pause, and End right from the menu bar
    Stays in their control, always
  • Auto-pause after 5 min idle — never charges them for time they didn't work
    No guilt, no fake hours
  • Notes on every session so context travels with the time
    Timesheets that explain themselves

Screenshots wait
Every capture lands in a private tray. Nothing is sent until approved.

Our engineering team voted to keep AllyTracker after the trial — the first time-tracker we’ve evaluated where the screenshots feel like notes to self instead of a manager looking over your shoulder.

Pricing

Honest pricing for honest work.

One simple subscription, per employee seat. Up to 2 admins are always free — you only pay for the employees you track. Cancel from your dashboard the same day if it's not for you.

And inside that subscription, every paid hour is a verified hour: when a teammate removes a capture from their review tray, the matching minutes drop out of the paid total automatically. Privacy stays private, time stays honest.

The honest answers

The questions we get asked most.

They control the timer and the screenshots. The session starts when they tap Start, pauses when they tap Pause, and ends when they tap End. Every screenshot waits in their private tray for review before it ever reaches the team. They're the author of what gets shared — not us, not their manager.
No. AllyTracker does not start on its own and there is no admin override that flips it on remotely. A small menu-bar indicator stays visible whenever a session is active, and Pause and End are one click away.
During an active session the app captures a screenshot at a cadence your teammate sets (default: every 10 minutes). Each capture lands in a private review tray on their device. They can scroll through, select any image that's personal, sensitive, or just messy, and tap Remove. Removed screenshots are deleted permanently. Only the ones they approve are uploaded and visible to managers.
No — removed minutes don't show up in paid hours. Each capture stands in for its own interval (10 minutes by default), so removing one capture drops 10 minutes off the session's paid total automatically. The teammate sees the exact deduction before they confirm Remove. This keeps the privacy guarantee — admins still never see what was removed — while making sure time stretchers can't capture a workday, remove everything, and still bill 8 hours. Honest privacy, honest timesheet.
Yes — that's the whole point. Every teammate has a personal dashboard with their hours, sessions, notes, and the screenshots they've approved. Managers see aggregated team views and only the screenshots an individual has chosen to share.

Try AllyTracker with your team for 14 days.

We’ll help you onboard your first 25 teammates, set the screenshot cadence, and walk through the review tray together so the whole team feels at home on day one.
